How does it work?

Our GM Laser finishing unit delivers a wide range of embellishing and finishing options as well as our unique laser cutting. The laser delivers a high powered laser beam of energy to cut the widest range of substrate to any shape or design you can imagine. The laser cuts to any electronic die line that would normally be used to identify traditional tooling die lines.  Laser cutting is a new technology that opens many doors and gives you the chance to make your labels “pop” from the competition.

Will my labels look different?

The laser die cutting process uses sheer energy to destroy the area a traditional knife would impact the substrate.  This impact may leave a slight “visual” burn mark on the liner but labels will peel off perfectly every time.  Jobs where you bleed to the edge may also show a minute edge as the laser cuts on a slight angle exposing a marginal increase in the substrates raw material.  The use of our laser is perfect for all hand applied and machine applied labels.

Can the laser cut all substrates?

We can cut a wide range of self-adhesive substrates from papers through to our synthetic raw materials including those embellished with UV gloss varnish and gloss or matte lamination. Laser cutting any stocks that have a metallised compound such as foils are not suitable and as such we would utilise traditional tooling.
